Matthew Karch CEO of Saber Praises Epic Store

PC

Today, CEO Matthew Karch of Saber has praised the Epic Store for how it handles giving companies more money for producing their games. “First of all, Building games is costly… Second, we're passing along much of the savings to you as gamers…” said Karch. Epic Games recently released a new game store with their Epic Games Launcher, where PC Fortnite Battle Royale players congregate through, giving anyone on it a giant audience to see what’s there with ease. This store release has been the target of high praise and high criticism from passionate PC gamers and other community members across the internet. Most of this criticism stems from the direct competition they have with the PC client giant Steam.

Matthew Karch has cited the 88%, instead of the 70%, their company keeps as the best deal for both players and developers, as said in their announcement on the Epic Games Store. This is sparking Saber to release a nice kickback to all players of World War Z by dropping the price to $34.99, down from the $39.99 it was previously available for. On top of that, players who have already purchased the game for the full $39.99 will be given a $5 refund.

This is a pretty amazing thing to see. This shows the ability of the Epic Games Store to change up the game for the better. Allowing companies to put even more effort, heart, and compassion into games knowing that they don’t have to cut corners or make cuts previously set in stone for most of them, to bring better quality games and entertainment. Saber noted in their article that Epic did not pay them and is not giving them any advance on their release. Here at Forever Classic Games, we feel like anything that gives developers advantages to give their employees better pay and to put more heart into their games is a win by us.
