Virtuous Cycle DLC Spices Up Mortal Shell with New Weapon, Shell, and More
What was once just a pleasant scratch to our souls-like needs in between Dark Souls games has now become something more. Cold Symmetry released Mortal Shell on August 18th of last year and jumped on the scene with some great reviews and a wonderfully dark world that takes players on a difficult adventure through Fall Grimm with all mankind and beast alike that have become something darker with the effects of a substance known as The Tar. Now we are presented with The Virtuous Cycle, a DLC that expands the game’s content while also creating an excuse for the release of a next-gen version.
At Summer Game Fest, Mortal Shell was revealed to have a new DLC coming in the near future called The Virtuous Cycle. We got to see a neat teaser trailer that shows the player character in what looks to be a new shell that Cold Symmetry has also been teasing on their Twitter feed.
Along with this new shell comes a unique silvery weapon that looks to have the ability to transform between an ax, spear, and dual swords/daggers. It looks incredibly effective as the character is mowing down zombies and fallen along the way.
November 3rd, 2020, Cold Symmetry released Rotten Autumn DLC for Mortal Shell, a free update that added a new Photo Mode, 10 Shades for Shells (new skins), and an expanded Original Soundtrack from Greek black metal band Rotting Christ.
Now that we have an official announcement of an actual expansion to the game, many fans of the game itself will get to sink their teeth into the dark and brutal world that engrossed us all throughout our often somber quarantine time.
If you haven’t gotten to dive into Mortal Shell yet, it is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. More information can be found on their official website.
