New Daemon X Machina Title Revealed at Marvelous Game Showcase

Titanic Scion Teaser Excites Mech Fans

Revealed at the end of the Marvelous Game Showcase — a digital event highlighting new games from the publisher and localized by XSEED Games — a fan-favorite mech game is getting a surprise sequel. While fans of RPGs and life simulator games had plenty to be excited about with new Story of Seasons and Rune Factory titles, one of the most interesting reveals of the showcase was a sequel to the mech action game DAEMON X MACHINA which debuted on Nintendo Switch in 2019 and was later released on Steam with graphical and performance enhancements.

Titled DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion, this sequel is coming from Marvelous’ First Studio and producer Kenichiro Tsukuda whose previous work included the first DAEMON X MACHINA game and the Armored Core series. Details of Titanic Scion are sparse though Marvelous has promised more details at a later date. To celebrate the reveal, DAEMON X MACHINA is on sale on Steam for $19.99 USD, inviting a new wave of mech pilots to try out the fast-paced action that made the original so appealing to mech fans.

There is potential that we could see Titanic Scion at any of the summer’s gaming announcement shows. Should the sequel also launch first on Nintendo Switch, the next Nintendo presentation could show more. Yet, if this is a multiplatform game, we could see more details at the PC Gaming Show. Either way, the mere fact that this sequel exists is awesome.

Hopefully, between DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion and the highly anticipated ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON via FromSoftware, we will continue to see more high-profile games in the mech genre as blasting robots with lasers and missiles almost always make for a fun time. Meanwhile, arcade goers continue to enjoy the exceptionally popular Gundam Versus series with Mobile Suit: Gundam Extreme Versus 2 Overboost releasing later this summer exclusively for arcades though there has yet to be any news as to whether the game will be released for PC or consoles. Regardless, mech fans have a lot to look forward to over the next few years.
