Kill it With Fire Out Now, Fulfills Destructive Anti-Spider Fantasy

There’s a timeless meme that shows a burning house and something to the effect of the spider has been defeated. Players can now live out this deep-rooted reaction to creepy-crawlies in a new game from Casey Donnellan Games LLC with publishing from tinyBuild of Hello Neighbor fame. Kill it With Fire is a first-person action game that is all about chasing down spiders and killing them by any means necessary while also checking off specific tasks and challenges. The game is out now on the Epic Store and Steam.

While things may start with a typical smashing of an arachnid with a clipboard, the use of force quickly escalates into shotguns and flamethrowers. This assuredly leads to collateral damage and a comical “had to be done” nod. Kill it With Fire certainly taps into that primal need to bring down the house on the creatures that should not dwell in our homes but rather than cause damage to actual homes, taking out that frustration in a $15 video game could not only save money but also could be invaluable therapy.

Although, those with arachnophobia may struggle with the searching aspect. . .

I am personally curious to see how far this idea can go. Even the best indie game ideas have a tendency to sputter out after a few hours, such as Untitled Goose Game which delightfully meets its goals in a few hours. Regardless, it’s always fun to see something unique and tinyBuild are always exploring those fringe concepts.
