Shantae and the Seven Sirens Dances onto PS5

Native PS5 Version Adds DualSense Support

Something that a lot of game studios have been doing here of late is porting their games to the newest consoles, which usually adds the immersive features those consoles offer. On PS5, one of the most compelling experiences I’ve played for the new hardware was Astro’s Playroom, a free demo that celebrated PlayStation history and integrated several amazing DualSense effects. After playing that demo, I’m always excited for more games to have similar support. Shantae and the Seven Sirens, the most recent adventure of everyone’s favorite half-genie is now natively available on PS5 with all of the previous updates and DualSense features.

Those who already own the PS4 version of Shantae and the Seven Sirens may upgrade to the PS5 version for free. For outright purchase, the game is listed for $29.99 USD and a physical edition is being developed by Limited Run Games. Details on the PS5 Limited Run release are expected in the future. According to a recent press release the rest of the Shantae series is expected to release on PS5 soon!

Seven Sirens is a game that I rather enjoyed when it first came to consoles. The Switch version was a ton of fun and the music has really stuck with me. The entire Shantae series is definitely worth playing for light-hearted platforming fun but there are harder modes to try and speedrunning these games can add a lot of replay value. We also interviewed Matt Bozon about the franchise, adding extra context to the game’s development.
